A Double Recognition for Bank Audi at the Gemas Effie Awards MENA 2011.

Bank Audi is proud to announce that it was granted a double recognition at the prestigious Gemas Effie Awards MENA 2011 gala presentation dinner which was held in MadinatJumeirah, Dubai, on November 24, 2011.

The “Loubnani” card campaign received the only gold award in the Banking, Finance and Insurance category, for its marketing effectiveness and innovation. The campaign won this utmost reward againstmajor internationaland regional financial institutions and banking groups. Mrs. Randa Bdeir, Group Head of Electronic Banking and Cards Services at Bank Audi sal- Audi Saradar Group, stated on the occasion: “This prize comes as a continuation of the series of awards the “Loubnani” card has won to date, among which the “Best promotion” (at the Social Economic Awards - SEA - 2011), the“Internet Award” (at the Internet Awards Middle East 2011), the “Best New Card Award” (at the Cards Middle East 2011 Conference), and the “Grand Cristal Award” and “Cristal Award” (at the MENA Cristal Awards 2010).

Judd Labarthe,chairman of the judging panel, explained that"the winners of Effies awards are brands that could prove they had met a marketing challenge with an idea big enough and effective enough that won the hearts and minds of their consumers.”

Bank Audi also reaped the rewards of its efforts in the field of marketing throughout 2011 by receiving the “Marketer of the Year” award which was granted to its Group Head of Marketing and Communications, Mr. Ramzy Abouezzeddine.

This tribute is usually addressed to a person who, through innovation, strategy and communications excellence, has made a positive impact on the market place, evidenced through clearly quantifiable post-campaign evaluation. It is someone who, in the opinion of the international panel of judges, has made a significant contribution to raising the standard of marketing in the Middle East.

“The winner is someone responsible for making their brand, product or service an outstanding success. Working with fish eye analytics, we identified 50 potential marketers and narrowed it down to Mr. Abouezzedine for his outstanding work with Bank Audi", said JulienHawari, co-CEO of MediaquestCorp, organisers of the Gemas Effie Awards.

The GEMAS Effie Mena Awards were launched to recognise, educate and encourage effectiveness among the marketing communications industry across the Middle East.They combine the regional marketing effectiveness awards – the GMR Effectiveness in Marketing Awards (GEMAS) – and the internationally renowned Effies.

In 2009, the GEMAS and the Effies joined forces as the GEMAS Effie Mena Awardswhich mark a major milestone in the history of marketing in the Middle East as the sector rapidly matures to take its rightful place on the global stage.
